On January 1, 2006, Tennessee’s Medical Fee
Schedule became mandatory. In order to analyze the effectiveness
of the Medical Fee Schedule in reducing costs, the division must begin
collecting medical data.
The Medical Fee Schedule Data Call Project is the requirement to
collect the medical data needed for the analysis of the fee
schedule. This requirement is authorized by the Tennessee Workers
Compensation Act and will provide the ability to generate and evaluate
reports on a quarterly basis.
The data call project will allow Insurance Carriers, Self Insured
Employers and other entities contracted to provide the information to
upload medical claim information into an application server for
processing. This will reduce paper submissions and the time and
cost to process data.
The data file can be extracted from your system and uploaded to the
division's website. The data will reside on a server that is
housed within a private network that is not accessible by the
public-at-large.
Taking into consideration the HIPPA laws and regulations, it is
necessary to have the appropriate login screens for the users to be
sure that the information accepted is authentic.
